Lego Star Wars Episode II Attack of the Clones minifigs
The first Lego clone troopers
In 2002 Star Wars Episode II Attack of the Clones was released in theaters. This is an opportunity for Lego to offer new sets and their minifigs based on the events of the movie. This new episode of Star Wars allows Lego to offer new Jedi minifigs. We thus find the heroes of the movie Anakin Skywalker who is now a Padawan, and his Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, but also Yoda, who makes his first appearance as a Lego Star Wars minifig in a set which opposes him Count Dooku, the main antagonist of the movie. He is followed by other enemies such as the bounty hunter Jango Fett and his partner Zam Wesell, as well as the Geonosian warriors. But it is especially on the side of the soldiers of the war to come that the collection of minifigs develops: we find over the years in the Lego Star Wars Sets many varaintes of clone troopers: basic soldier in white armor, sergeant with green markings, captain in red, lieutenant in blue and commander in yellow. Battle droids also see their numbers grow with new orange-colored variants from the Battle of Geonosis and the first appearance of the Super Battle Droid. Since the movie's release, Lego has continued to create new minifigs for episode II, with several other Jedi participating in the battle like Mace Windu, Coleman Trebor or Stass Alie, as well as improved versions of the main characters, the first versions from 2002 still having the classic yellow Lego head before Lego decides to create flesh-colored heads and hands for characters of movies.
