Lego SMART Play in the Star Wars sets

Introduced in 2026 and launched with the LEGO Star Wars range, the SMART Play concept offers an innovative and interactive way to play! The concept is built around an intelligent brick called the SMART Brick, capable of reacting to movement, colors, and the proximity of SMART Tags and SMART Minifigures thanks to its built-in sensors, in order to produce sounds and lights that match the context. It becomes possible to bring LEGO sets to life: the SMART Tag tells the brick which type of build it is placed in (spaceship, vehicle, machine…), so it can generate the appropriate sounds (engine noise, music…), while other elements (colored pieces, SMART Minifigures) add additional sound effects (laser fire, repair sounds, talking characters…). The internal sensors of the SMART Brick can also detect the movement of the set to trigger the right sounds (flying, crashing…), and even detect the presence of another set equipped with a SMART Brick to simulate battles.

The LEGO SMART Play range is divided into two categories of sets: SMART Play All-in-One sets, which include a SMART Brick and its charger along with SMART Tags and SMART Minifigures, and SMART Play Compatible sets, which include SMART Tags and SMART Minifigures but no SMART Brick. You will therefore need at least one All-in-One set in order to obtain a SMART Brick and fully enjoy the features of the SMART Play concept.
