Lego Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series sets
UCS Lego Star Wars: the holy grail of collectors
Barely a year after the release of the first Lego Star Wars sets, the manufacturer launches the first Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series sets, with the X-Wing fighter and the TIE Interceptor. Composed of more than 1000 pieces when the playset versions of these ships do not exceed 300 pieces and produced in a larger scale than that of the figurines which allows a much greater level of detail and an increased fidelity to the model of the film, the sets Lego Star Wars UCS are quickly establishing themselves as a must-have for any Lego fan, helping to attract an adult collector audience to Lego. Lego then developed the Ultimate Collector Series concept in different ways, such as with brick statues and busts, large-scale playsets or very detailed ships like the Imperial Star Destroyer and its 109 cm long, or the Millennium Falcon 75192 which is the most expensive set marketed to date with its price of 799.99$.
